Vacuuming can extend the life of your carpet. Carpets should be vacuumed at least once a week. Two times per week is recommended. Dirt acts as an abrasive. So the common zigzag pattern is missing much of the soil, So pull the vacuum backwards in a straight line and then move it over to the next section. Then pull it backwards again in a straight line. The may take a little time, but will make you carpet last longer and may increase the time between cleanings.
